Bone Grafts and Sinus Lifts

A bone graft is a surgical procedure to replace missing bone matter in your jaw with new bone-like material. 

A sinus lift is a similar surgical procedure in that it has the same purpose (to replace missing bone matter), but a sinus lift is done on the upper teeth/gums. 

During the procedure, Dr. J will make an incision to the part of your mouth that needs bone reinforcement. He will attach a sterile, bone-like material to the affected areas and close the incision. While it heals over the next few months, your natural bone will grow around the new material and increase its strength. This ensures that your jaw will be strong enough to hold a dental implant.
